The Light Factory Annual Art Auction

ARTWORK PREVIEW: Items will be available to preview online in early October. Please join us on Thursday, October 24th at 6:30pm in The Light Factory gallery to preview all the artwork and hear from several collection experts as they highlight select pieces in the auction.

EVENT NIGHT DETAILS: The event opens at 6:30 on Saturday, November 2nd; the live auction will start at 8pm; silent auction will close at 8:30pm about half-way through the live auction. 

PARKING: Parking the night of the auction is located behind the building near the entrance to the gallery at 1817 Central Avenue. Parking is also available on neighborhood streets. We encourage you to use the ride sharing company of your choice and please note that parking across the street in the Harris Teeter parking lot is strictly prohibited.

ATTIRE: Anything goes (within reason of course)! You will see everything from jeans to folks dressed for a night on the town. Come dressed in whatever inspires you to bid!

FOOD AND DRINK: A delicious catered buffet will open at 6:30pm along with our open bar featuring wine, beer, and a selection of non-alcoholic beverages.

SILENT AUCTION BIDDING: Can't be at the auction? No problem! The silent auction will take place entirely via mobile bidding. When you register for the event you will enter your cell phone number and will receive a text message with a link to bid on items. Please note: mobile bidding is done over text message not via an app. The silent auction will open for bidding during our preview on October 24th and will end promptly at 8:30pm on event night, November 2nd.

LIVE AUCTION BIDDING: The live auction will start at 8:00pm. If you are not able to be at the auction in person we are happy to arrange proxy bidding for you. Please contact Jenny at [email protected] by 3pm the day of the auction to arrange proxy bidding. Phone bidding during the live auction is also available. Please note: to participate in the live auction via proxy or phone bidding you will still need to register on the event website and provide a credit card number.

ARTWORK PAYMENT AND PICK UP: When you register to bid you will be required to enter a credit card number.  You will have the option to pay with that card, or via another form of payment (checks are preferred), at the end of the evening.  All items will be wrapped and available for pick up after the event. If you are not able to pick up your items the night of the auction we are happy to make alternate arrangement for pick up. We are happy to ship items outside of Charlotte at a cost that will be billed to the winner. Please note, The Light Factory is not responsible for any damage that may occur during shipping.
